The pure mountain water in the region provides a natural smoked which is the main characteristic of a Malta Speyside, where the cold and wet ripening process helps to ensure that climate is the most complex and elegant malt whiskeys.
Limited to the best of each cask malt whiskey "Glenrothes" Quantities are individually selected in a given year when you consider that you have reached the degree of perfection.
The type of cask used for maturing "The Glenrothes" could influence more in the taste of the final whiskey that only time. They are only used barrels that have been considered of exceptional quality, and these barrels are selecciodas between American oak barrels and Spanish. The American barrels were previously used to mature Bourbon or Sherry and Spanish have been used to mature Jerez.
