Fifty Pounds Premium gin bottle 0.70 l.,
The seventeenth century William of Orange banned the importation of spirits to England by encouraging the production and consumption of domestic gin. This came to be distilled in one in five London houses, running wild consumption and causing a rapid degeneration of society. To curb the situation, in 1736 a tax of 50 pounds it was created, (Fifty Pounds), for whom it is devoted to the production and sale of gin. Ironically, hence comes the name of this gin, made in a small, legendary distillery located in southeast London. The recipe remained hidden for generations, until now, when the descendants of those distillers has rescued. Its development is based on a single distillation, batch, in a small centenary still. A secret combination of herbs, spices (juniper, coriander seeds, grains of paradise, savory, orange and lemon peel, licorice, angelica root ...), fruits and flowers, along with the grain spirit (alcohol neutral, previously distilled four times to achieve greater purity) make this superior London Dry Gin, elegant, dry, soft, single gin flavor, complex and balanced. Each bottle contains a number of individual batch distillation, along with the year in which it is distilled. See gintonic our recipes section for how to prepare gintonics with Fifty Pounds Gin
